The part of Law 25 that gets fixed in code

A lawyer will tell you what the law requires. They will not come and reorder your script loading or rewrite your consent boxes. That half is ours.

What we find in almost every site we open

  • Tracking starts before consent
The banner appears, but analytics and the advertising pixel have already sent the visit. The banner is decorative.
  • One button on the banner
Accepting is possible, refusing takes three clicks or does not exist. Consent you cannot refuse is not consent.
  • The contact form feeds the newsletter
A single box mixing terms of use and marketing, often pre-checked. The most widespread fault, and the easiest to fix.
  • Nobody knows which tools receive the data
A forgotten chat widget, a former supplier's pixel, a heatmap installed for a test in 2023. We find them at every audit.

What we do on the site

  • 01
A real inventory of the tools receiving data
We read the outgoing requests page by page and write down what leaves and to whom. It is the base for everything else, and almost always a surprise.
  • 02
    Tracking placed behind consent
Analytics, pixels and measurement tools no longer load until the person has chosen. That is script reordering, not an app to install.
  • 03
A banner where refusing is as easy as accepting
Two buttons at the same level, a remembered choice, and somewhere to change it later.
  • 04
Forms rebuilt, one box per use
Unchecked by default, labels that say what will happen, and the date and exact label recorded so consent can be demonstrated.
  • 05
Email list verified at the source
Where each address came from, one-click unsubscribe, identified sender. Law 25 and CASL are two laws and a Quebec list must satisfy both.
  • 06
A policy page describing your real practices
Written from the inventory, not from a template. We write the technical part; legal validation belongs to your lawyer.
We work well together if…

We work with you if…

We turn down ~60% of requests, because we want to deliver real results and that requires the right fundamentals on your end.

Qualify my project
  • You have a site that collects emails, form entries or orders
  • You are not certain which tools receive your visitors' data
  • Your lawyer told you what to do and nobody translated it into technical work
  • You want the work done, not a compliance badge sold to you

Frequently asked

The questions we get most before kicking off.

Do you guarantee Law 25 compliance?
No, and be wary of anyone who does. We are not a law firm. We do the technical work the law implies on a site and in an email list: load order, boxes, consent records, tool inventory. Interpreting the law and reaching a compliance verdict belong to a lawyer and, ultimately, to the Commission d'accès à l'information.
Is a cookie banner app enough?
Not on its own. Most apps show a banner but do not actually control the load order of scripts already embedded in the theme. The banner looks right and tracking starts anyway. The work is in the code around it, not in the app.
What is the difference between Law 25 and CASL?
Law 25 is provincial and covers personal information. CASL is federal and covers commercial messages. They stack: a Quebec email list has to satisfy both, and a business can be compliant on one side and not the other.
How long does it take?
The tool inventory takes a few hours. Reordering tracking and rebuilding forms, a few days on a standard site. What stretches it is cleaning an email list whose addresses have unknown origins.
We already have a privacy policy, is that enough?
It depends whether it describes what your site actually does. A policy copied elsewhere, or written before three tools were added, is wrong, and anyone can check that in two minutes. We compare it against the real inventory before concluding.

Ready to talk growth?

Book 30 minutes with us, or send a message if you'd rather walk us through your project in writing.

We turn down about 60% of requests. If we take you on, it's because we can deliver.
