Ecommerce · Migration
Change platform without losing your traffic
A migration rarely fails on products. It fails on URLs: old addresses vanish, Google loses track of the catalog, and traffic collapses the following month with nobody understanding why.

What breaks during a migration
- Old URLs redirect nowhereEvery product page that changes address without a redirect is a page Google has to relearn. Multiplied across a catalog, that is a traffic drop.
- Variants do not map one to onePlatforms model sizes, colors and options differently. A naive mapping creates phantom products and false stockouts.
- Subscriptions and loyal customers get lostRecurring orders and stored cards do not migrate on their own. Poorly planned, you lose paying customers on switch day.
- Measurement resets without anyone noticingNew site, new tracking IDs. Without rewiring everything, you steer blind for weeks.
How we migrate
- 01We start with a URL inventoryEvery current address, its traffic and its position. That map dictates the redirect plan.
- 02Products, variants and images transferredWith an explicit option mapping, verified on a sample before running the full batch.
- 03Customers, orders and historySo your customer service and retention emails keep their memory.
- 04301 redirects in place before the DNS switchPrepared and tested in advance, not improvised the next day when traffic starts falling.
- 05Measurement rewired and verified on day oneAnalytics, purchase tracking, campaign tags. We compare the new site's orders against the old one's before calling the migration a success.
- 06Ranking watch for 30 daysA migration is judged a month later, not on launch night.

Frequently asked
The questions we get most before kicking off.
Do you lose your rankings when changing platform?
Not if redirects are done. Every old address must point to its equivalent with a 301, and pages without an equivalent to the nearest category. Migrations that crater traffic are almost always the ones where this step was skipped.
Which platforms do you migrate from?
WooCommerce, Lightspeed, Magento, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace and custom builds. The underlying work is the same: map, transpose, redirect, verify.
How long does a migration take?
A few weeks for a standard catalog. What stretches it is variant complexity, accounting integrations and recurring subscriptions, not product count.
Does the store stay open meanwhile?
Yes. We build in parallel and switch at a chosen moment, usually outside peak hours. The current store keeps selling until the cutover.
