Facebook advertising, honestly
This page exists because the question comes up every week: does Facebook advertising still work, and what does it cost? We answer here without selling, and we also say when it is not for you.

The four questions we get most
- Does it still work in 2026?Yes, but not the way it did in 2018. Detailed targeting matters far less, creative and measurement matter far more.
- What does it cost to start? The media budget is yours and goes straight to Meta. Below roughly $50 a day the system does not gather enough data to learn.
- Does it work for my industry? It works well for a product you can show and buy on the spot. It is harder for a long, expensive, rare service, where search often converts better.
- Can I do it myself?Yes, and plenty of people do it well. The expensive part is not the software, it is the time it takes to learn which dials to read.
What actually makes a difference
- 01Creative, before targetingSince detailed audiences lost precision, it is the video or image that decides who Meta shows your ad to.
- 02The first three secondsThree-second retention is the first number we look at. If it is low, everything else costs more.
- 03Enough events to learnAround 50 a week per ad set. Below that, the system never leaves the learning phase.
- 04Measurement wired on both sidesThe browser pixel is no longer enough alone. The Conversions API recovers part of the signal the browser loses.
- 05A destination that keeps the promiseThe best ad in the world dies on a slow page, or one that talks about something other than the ad.
Brands we've grown
A few clients we've delivered this service for.
“We've been working with Borgia Digital for 2 months. In one month, we went from zero online sales and zero online presence to 200 orders. Michael and his team literally blew our sales through the roof. An unimaginable ROAS. I highly recommend them.”

Frequently asked
The questions we get most before kicking off.
What does Facebook advertising cost in Quebec?
Two amounts. The media budget goes to Meta and you set it: below roughly $50 a day, learning does not happen. If you hand management to an agency, fees come on top. Ours start at $2,950 per month.
What minimum budget to test?
Plan a full month at a budget that accumulates around fifty events a week. An underfunded two-week test answers no question: it just produces a number you cannot trust.
Do I need an active Facebook page to advertise?
You need a page, verified and in good standing, but you do not need to post daily. An abandoned page works technically, even if it inspires less confidence when someone clicks through.
Why do my ads get rejected?
Usually the sensitive-topics policy, results claims, or a landing page that does not match the ad. A rejection can be appealed, but resubmitting the same thing without fixing it eventually weighs on the account.
Facebook or Google, which one with a single budget?
If people already search for what you sell, Google captures existing demand. If they do not yet know they need it, Facebook creates demand. With one budget, start with the channel that matches how your current customers found you.
